Event Summary: 

The Safe OUTside the System collective of the Audre Lorde Project will host its 7th Community Freestyle on Sunday, May 17th, from 12-5pm. This year’s Community Freestyle will focus on creating and grounding ourselves in community-led strategies for safety that don’t rely on state systems. The Freestyle will feature cultural performances, visual art exhibitions, and workshops on building alternatives to policing for LGBTSTGNC people of color on public transportation; channeling individual and collective experience into art; and security training focused on strategies for de-escalation and community security.
